Description
The First Alert Crestron Home Driver brings cloud-based HVAC control to your residential automation projects. By connecting directly to the Resideo API, this driver allows homeowners to manage their First Alert climate hardware through native Crestron Home touch screens, keypads, and mobile applications.
Advanced Climate & Schedule Management:
-
Dynamic Schedule Feedback: The driver tracks and displays the current active schedule mode directly on the user interface.
-
Smart Override Logic: When a user manually adjusts setpoints during an active schedule, the driver triggers ‘Hold Until’ mode, safely maintaining the temporary temperature until the next scheduled event occurs.
-
Contextual UI Buttons: The interface dynamically displays ‘Run Schedule’ and ‘Permanent Hold’ buttons only when you define active schedules on the physical device, keeping the UI clean and uncluttered.
Developer & Cloud Architecture:
To ensure system stability and comply with manufacturer guidelines, this driver utilizes a secure cloud-to-cloud bridge.
-
API Synchronization: The driver polls the First Alert API approximately every five minutes for feedback. External changes made directly at the thermostat wall unit or via the native First Alert app will reflect in the Crestron Home system within six minutes.
-
Command Execution: Because this integration uses a cloud-based API, commands pass securely through the internet and take several seconds to execute across devices.

It is highly recommended and encouraged to use the built-in trial license to test the driver with your hardware setup before purchasing a full license. The trial period is 2 hours and can be extended another 2 hours by rebooting the processor.
