Note: Please verify the hardware make and model that you have. Check if the hardware image on our site matches the hardware that you have. If it looks substantially different, then the driver likely won’t work, but you can always contact us to be sure. Take full advantage of the trial period to verify the driver will work for your hardware.
This Somfy driver will communicate with the Somfy Universal RTS Interface II (URTSI II) to control shades that have have been paired. It is compatible with Crestron Home.
It is recommended that you save a configuration or golden configuration before installing any driver.
1) The Crestron Home system loses control of the devices 30 minutes after reboot.
2) There is no control of any channel in one or more of the Somfy URTSI II units.
3) Can not control units on channel mark as 0 in the Somfy URTSI II rotary switch.
4) After making adjustments to the driver in the Installer Settings, I can only control the first shade.
The SomfyIPtoSerial works in tandem with the Somfy URTSI II Crestron Home Driver. It helps to manage the communication with the URTSI II. Each instance of the SomfyIPtoSerial will manage the communication on a single COM Port. Each instance should have a unique TCP port. The SomfyIPtoSerial Driver is part of the Somfy URTSI II Crestron Home Driver package.
Yes, The Somfy URTSI II Crestron Home Driver allows the system to control multiple devices connected to multiple COM ports. Each COM port will need a dedicated SomfyIPtoSerial Driver.
The IP address is used to set the communication between the Somfy URTSI II Crestron Home Driver and the SomfyIPtoSerial Driver. It should be set as the loopback address 127.0.0.1 to let the system know that both drivers are part of the same system.
The TCP port works as an identifier for the SomfyIPtoSerial Drivers. Each SomfyIPtoSerial Driver must have a unique TCP port. The Somfy URTSI II Crestron Home Driver uses the TCP port to select the corresponding COM port. As an example, let's use 2 Somfy URTSI II connected to 2 different COM ports in the system. Each URTSI II controls units in 5 locations. The Crestron Home system would implement 2 SomfyIPtoSerial Drivers to manage the COM ports. Each driver will have 1 unique TCP port number. No 2 SomfyIPtoSerial Drivers can have the same TCP port. For this example, the port numbers are 64401 and 64402. The Crestron Home system would implement 10 Somfy URTSI II Drivers, One per location. Five of the drivers would use the TCP port number 64401 and the other five 64402.
No, the Somfy URTSI II does not allow multiple URTSI II units connected in serial using RS-232 communication. It only allows it when using RS-485 communication.
You can add shade controls to your Keypads by creating quick actions. You can add these quick actions to any room. Then chose to have them shown or not on the UIs by selecting and editing the property using the eye symbol next to the quick action.
Then you can reference the quick action on any keypad as shown in the next snapshot.
There is an issue that occurs in CH, after making a change in the settings of a driver. The tile will show offline, or it will seem like the setting didn't take effect or the driver seems like it's not working properly. The fix is to reboot the TSW panel or restart the IOS/Android app to force CH to pull a fresh copy of data from the processor. Crestron is aware of the issue.
In order to control all or a group of shades at once, you will need to pair all or the group of shades to a single channel. There is no special channel that allows controlling all the shades at once. If for some reason it’s not possible to pair multiple shades to a single channel, than an alternative is to define a quick action and add the shades you want to control to the quick action. The disadvantage with this option is that the shades will move in a staggered manner.
