Description

The Episode 70V Amplifier Crestron Home Driver provides a dedicated serial interface for managing Episode’s high-impedance amplification series. Specifically designed for 70V distribution, this driver enables the Crestron Home™ ecosystem to automate power states and source switching with zero network latency.

Advanced Audio Configuration:

  • Flexible Routing Logic: This driver supports two primary operation modes. You can either mix all inputs simultaneously or route a single specific source to the outputs based on your client’s needs.

  • Stereo Mapping: The driver intelligently maps the hardware inputs into a stereo system structure:

    • Input 1 & 2: Unbalanced RCA (Left/Right)

    • Input 3 & 4: Balanced (Left/Right)

  • Discrete Control: Command discrete power on/off and mute states, ensuring the amplifier stays in sync with complex home or commercial automation scenes.

  • Real-Time Feedback: The driver maintains constant bi-directional communication to provide accurate volume levels and active input status on the Crestron Home UI.

Technical Requirements:

  • Serial Control Only: This driver utilizes the RS-232 protocol exclusively. It does not support IP-based communication for the ESA-70V series.

  • Supported Models: Fully compatible with the ESA-70V2CH-150W, ESA-70V2CH-300W, and ESA-70V2CH-500W.

Automated Efficiency: The Crestron Home framework automatically manages zone power and source selection upon request, utilizing your specific assignment configuration to streamline the user experience.

Digital Automation - Episode 70V Amplifier Manual

  • It is recommended that you save a configuration or golden configuration before installing any driver.

  • Crestron Home manages input loop-outs using virtual adapters. The adapters are placed in the Crestron Home configuration as a hub between the source and the devices. The physical source is landed on the adapter’s input, and the adapter outputs are landed on the device's input as needed. The most commonly used adapters are the Universal A/V Adapter and the Uncontrolled Generic A/V DA. They are shown under the "Other" category below "Drivers".
