The problem is Honeywell doesn’t let you authorize any thermostats that have been paired with the TCC app for third party control via the Honeywell Home API. Until Honeywell allows the authorization, TCC thermostats remain unsupported by this driver. There is a dedicated API for TCC thermostats but we have been unsuccessful so far in getting access. If you know someone from Honeywell/Resideo who can help, please don’t hesitate to reach out and get us connected.

If I upgrade the driver, do I have to go through the process of authorizing the thermostats?
Not necessarily, when you first install the driver and enter the authorization code, if it’s successful, it will create a config file on the processor. This config file will remain on the processor unless you manually remove it. When you install a new version of the driver, leave the authorization code empty and it will automatically pick up the file and use the information in their to make its request. It is important that the instance number matches the previous driver.
Why do I need to create a Honeywell Home developer account?
Each developer account is limited to a certain number of access to Honeywell Home’s API every month. To get around this problem, we require that you create and use your own developer account.
Can the driver be configured to reverse the direction of the open and close?
No, this is a hardware setup issue. Consult with Somfy tech support on how to reverse the motor direction.
Why is the system not turning on my TV/Projector when I select the Blackdove tile? / Why don’t I have the ability to select which HDMI my Blackdove player is connected to?
This is a limitation of the current version of Crestron Home. Crestron has stated in the past that they plan to have the ability to have a custom driver also act as a media source in the future. The more technical reason is that the Blackdove driver is developed using the Extensions framework in Crestron’s SDK and currently the Extensions’s framework doesn’t support triggering media actions.
Why is the zone list/status not always available? It shows up for a split second and then goes away or doesn’t show at all.
The Driver only reports actively faulted zones and the list disappears when nothing is faulted. If it’s showing and disappearing then that zone is only staying tripped briefly. The driver does have a new option that allows you to define zones that are always available for bypass. This will show up as a second button below the faulted list button.
The driver is not getting information from the thermostat
- Make sure the physical connections are correct.
- Confirm the communication settings.
- If you have Infinity Touch thermostats, make sure the thermostat is on the home screen.
- Confirm you are using a supported SAM module. If you have Infinity Touch thermostats, you need to have at least SAM model SYSTXCCSAM01, SYSTXCCRCT01 or SYSTXCCRWF01. If you have older SAM board model, with the Infinity Touch thermostat, than this will not work.
- Uninstall the driver, reboot the CH processor, re-install the driver.
The feedback takes a long time to update
The SAM module needs enough time to process each command and send the necessary feedback. This is a limitation of the SAM hardware.
What is the difference between platform and standalone driver?
- The standalone driver allows control of only one system and one zone. It offers a slightly simpler driver setup.
- The platform driver allows controlling more than one handler and zone on a SAM.
- The standalone driver is available on the HVAC menu on the Crestron Home Setup.
What communication options are available?
This driver only works via RS-232 using the SAM module.
